A Day Is Always Better With Chocolate | British Virgin Islands Opens Its First Ever Chocolate Shop

Did you know that the Caribbean is held in high regard as a cocoa-producing region because most of the countries produce a fine aromatic cocoa? Fine flavour cocoa accounts for only 5% of world production and is concentrated in 17 countries, 7 of which are from the Caribbean Community! With that in mind, two ‘island girl’ chocolatiers decided to set up the first ever chocolate shop in The British Virgin Islands to share their passion for chocolate. Bleu Chocolàt has opened on the island of Tortola and is a bean to bar boutique chocolate factory that is producing organic chocolates with beans derived from the Southern Caribbean. They embrace fair trade practices in production and live by the motto: “A day is never good without chocolate.” Not only is their blend of cocoa base smooth, creamy and delicious, but the fillings pack a real punch and leave a lasting impression. Using only natural and organic ingredients (where possible), they blend and create their fillings from scratch. Their chocolates delight the senses with fragrant Caribbean flavours like White Chocolate Vanilla Bean, Lemon Grass, or Guava and Chef Erika’s signature Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel treats are not to be missed.
