WHITE 1921 COURCHEVEL | Reopens For Its Second Season on 15th December
On 15th December 2016, White 1921 Courchevel by LVMH Hotel Management will reopen for its second season. The 25-room hotel, designed by French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, is the second opening under this lifestyle hotel brand. White 1921 Saint-Tropez, a coveted Champagne bar and eight-room hotel, opened in 2012 on the famed Place des Lices, in the legendary town.
The new hotel sits right on the renowned Croisette in the heart of Courchevel 1850, steps away from the main ski lifts, and is an exciting addition to this exclusive resort’s hotel offering. The modern design and bubbly and fresh characteristics of White 1921 Courchevel offer a unique atmosphere on the pristine Alpine slopes.
An intimate hotel in the signature style of Jean-Michel Wilmotte, White 1921 Courchevel has been designed with chic individualism. Interior inspiration has been taken from the snow-clad backdrop, with the aim to create a cheerful and relaxed alpine experience. White 1921 reinvents the design codes of a classic mountain-hotel with its distinguishable white painted façade and the purity of its interior-design.
A geometric design based on triangles – a nod to the views over the surrounding mountain peaks – is a theme carried throughout the hotel: right at the entrance gallery a peak-engraved wall of brushed-white lacquered wood is juxtaposed with clear natural oak panelling, the second most dominant material used in the hotel’s design, be it on commissioned furniture pieces or eye-catching wall fixtures.
The atmosphere of the 25 rooms is characteristically bright with the predominantly white design enhanced by an eclectic colour palette and a selection of original and custom-made furniture. Of the 25 guestrooms, which include two large family rooms that comfortably accommodate a family of four, several feature private balconies or open terraces with stellar views over the charming village and across the slopes.
Each morning, guests can enjoy a generous, gourmet breakfast served in the convivial atmosphere of the Grand Salon around a farmer’s market table, or in the comfort of their own room. As well as having direct access to the resort’s ski domain, guests also enjoy a dedicated Ski Service with guest boots, skis and boards ready and waiting on arrival and a friendly team on-hand each morning to delight guests with treats for the day ahead. Insider recommendations and bookings at the very best mountain spots for a sun-soaked lunch, après-ski relaxation or prime shopping on La Croisette are offered by the concierge team to ensure guests make the most of their stay.
Back at White 1921 Courchevel and after a day on the slopes, the hotel’s sauna, Jaccuzi and hammam provide a welcome moment of relaxation, whilst the fully-equipped gym caters to the needs of those looking to burn some extra energy.
For a cosy escape from the outdoors, the Petit Salon hosts a winter library furnished with a hand-curated collection of luxury books from the famed French publishing house Assouline. The book collection showcases some of the world’s foremost artists, photographers, writers, architects, fashion and interior designers, and culinary masters, presented in beautifully illustrated books and vintage editions. With a warming afternoon tea and the cocooning atmosphere of the stylish lobby lounge, guests are invited to a literary immersion rich with cultural inspirations. As the sun sets over the Alps, the Petit Salon becomes the ideal venue for a stylish toast before heading out to the sought-after restaurants and nightlife of Courchevel 1850.
