Discover New Spa At Luxurious Cap Rocat | Mallorca
Cap Rocat revealed a major new Spa, brilliantly carved from the limestone depths of the former 19th Century military fortress. Designed by Antonio Obrador – the hotel’s owner and original designer – this is Mallorca’s most spectacular new Spa.
From the moment it opened in 2010, Cap Rocat set the standard for simple Mediterranean luxury. The inspired transformation of the fortress into a true hideaway, with just 29 suites, was an instant hit. Today, Cap Rocat continues to embody the spirit of peaceful, barefoot luxury; the new Spa is the latest incarnation of this philosophy.
The focal point is a dramatic 25m saltwater swimming pool, sunk 12m below ground level – yet wonderfully bright. A wide conservatory-style glass ceiling allows the brilliant Mallorcan sunshine to flood the space by day, while by night, the clear star-filled skies create a mesmerizing place to swim. The vast exposed limestone walls add a touch of drama to the experience.
Like the rest of Cap Rocat, the Spa is characterized by deep privacy and a complete lack of ostentation. The rough limestone is softened by clever lighting, delicate woods and soft local fabrics.
Five treatment rooms are each a haven of peace and calm – places to totally escape. The treatment menu places high importance on re-establishing each guest’s natural balance. Cap Rocat’s wellness team has devised a house range of products using local, natural ingredients, including Mallorcan citrus, almonds and extra virgin olive oil to be used in body, facial and sports treatments.
Signature treatment includes the Cap Rocat Body Peel, using quince, coconut oil and papaya to revitalize the body and an Aloe Vera Facial – ideal for restoring moisture in the skin after exposure to the Mallorcan sun.
A relaxation area, adjacent to the swimming pool is the perfect spot for unwinding before and after treatments. Guests can relax on large Mallorcan beds, divided by curtains – and ideal for escaping the midday sun.
Pablo Carrington, Managing Director of Marugal Hotel Management says:
“The Spa has been many years in the making – and is the finishing touch to the Cap Rocat experience. Since the hotel opened, Cap Rocat has been a place to relax, with heart-lifting views over the Bay of Palma, and a totally enchanting atmosphere – so this brought everything together.”
Guests can emerge from the Spa to discover the secrets of the rest of the hotel; the fortress swimming pool built into the ramparts, fresh seafood straight from the Mallorcan firewood oven on the water’s edge at The Sea Club, creative cocktails and live music in the early evening at the bar – and much more…
The Spa at Cap Rocat will open on 1 April 2017. Overnight stays from €450 per night based on two sharing on a B&B basis.
