Hotel Summer Pop-Ups | Luxury London
Spectacular hotel pop-ups happening this summer – the perfect excuse for a staycation weekend in the UK
As summer beckons, here are some fresh new vacation ideas to kick off this summer:
A Taste of Cornwall At The Goring With Rick Stein
This summer, thanks to The Goring, all that’s fabulous about Cornwall comes to Belgravia – the best produce, the best fish, the best wines, the best lobsters and the best local chefs up the M5 – especially for Londoners to enjoy. ‘A Taste of Cornwall at The Goring’ is a three-month long summer seafood celebration – and the hotel’s veranda has been transformed into a Cornish fish restaurant with a stylish, relaxed summer vibe.
The Goring’s Michelin-starred chef Shay Cooper has worked with Rick Stein and his son, executive chef Jack Stein, to create a scrumptious Cornish-inspired menu, bursting with Padstow lobster, Cornish crab and grilled Lemon Sole, all served in the sunshine with a glass of Camel Valley sparkling rosé. Or relax in the boat-lounger in the garden with a ‘Poldark Punch’ or a ‘Surf’s Up’ cocktail…. close your eyes and you can almost hear the seas.
Keep Cool And Pop Up On The Thames
Keep cool this summer with an alcoholic POPS premium popsicles, at the The Runnymede-on-Thames just downstream from Windsor. The hotel’s Riverside Terrace will be home to a funky POPS Pop-Up Bar, boat trips along the Thames and laid-back days beside the outdoor swimming pool until mid-September. Kick back on a deckchair and enjoy the calming views of the Thames with one of POPS’ classics – Champagne, Bellini and Strawberry Martini, or be one of the first to try the new flavours launched this year: Frosé, Watermelon Martini and Chilly Mango. The vintage-style POPS bicycle – the POPScycle – will deliver these delicious ice cold treats to guests relaxing along the river.
Flower Power Bar At The Groovy Grove, Hertfordshire
Inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, Flower Power comes to Hertfordshire this July, in the form of The Grove’s very own Flower Power Bar. The campervan will take up residence in the hotel’s gorgeous grounds throughout the summer, open to residents and non-residents alike. The VW campervan is psychedelically transformed with giant chillout cushions, and a menu of groovy cocktails especially concocted for the occasion, including ‘Peace Out 1967’, a fruity punch with rum, orange curacao, raspberry syrup – and summer fruits from the Walled Garden.
Float Away In Sussex With Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa
This summer, Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa is introducing new antidote to the stresses of city life with the extraordinary power of floatation therapy. Ideal for truly switching off as the temperature heats up, ‘Awakening Floatation’ combines the spa’s isopod floatation tank and bespoke Elemental Herbology treatments for total escape
Guests will disappear into the cocooning environment of the pod – a safe haven of calm. Inside, highly saline water – like the Dead Sea – enables effortless floating; the body becomes totally weightless and every muscle relaxes. Research shows that floating can have a significant impact on mood, increase levels of happiness and directly combat stress – energising and rejuvenating the body at the same time.
Awakening Floatation works as an introduction to floating. A consultation and explanation is followed by a 30-minute float and 15 minutes in the relaxation room. The ritual is completed with a totally bespoke and customised 5 Element Hot Oil Acupressure Scalp Massage. Working with the crown chakra, it calms and centres the mind. The experience is completed with an Ockenden Manor ‘Lifestyle Prescription’ for additional activities and treatments according to the need of each guest.
