Hotel Cala di Volpe | Luxury Suite & Boat Experience for 007 Enthusiasts
Hotel Cala di Volpe celebrates the 40th anniversary of The Spy Who Loved Me
To mark the 40th anniversary of the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) on 20th July – Hotel Cala di Volpe, Costa Smeralda is inviting 007 enthusiasts to take to the water and discover the filming location of the spy movie with a new Suite & Boat experience.
Guests who book a four-day stay in a Premium Suite will be treated to a private excursion aboard an elegant lobster boat – in true James Bond style. The private boat trip includes a captain to navigate the clear waters of the Mediterranean, allowing guests to experience the thrill of the sea and discover the most beautiful bays of the Costa Smeralda.
Guests can choose from three itineraries: the beautiful UNESCO islands of La Maddalena, the charming Bonifacio on the southern tip of Corsica or the majestic island of Tavolara. Each itinerary offers the opportunity to experience a different slice of the Mediterranean – and drink in the views and ambience before heading back to the luxury and comfort of Cala di Volpe.
Back at the hotel, Bar Pontile – which doubled as Suite A5 in The Spy Who Loved Me, will be the first stop for Bond fans. Overlooking one of the most beautiful coves of the Emerald Coast, guests can relax and soak up the incredible views with a Vesper Martini in hand – shaken, not stirred.
The hotel’s Premium Suites capture all the charm and romance of Sardinia’s celebrated cultural history. Handcrafted pieces of furniture and bright terracotta tiles contrast the white-washed walls of these suites whilst the Sardinian sunset is best enjoyed from the suites’ private terrace, with expansive views over the mesmerising turquoise waters. After savouring the fresh-caught seafood and culinary delights of the gourmet restaurant – guests can retreat to their rooms for a late night showing of The Spy Who Loved Me…
