Located inside the iconic former Screen Actors Guild headquarters, The Guild is a contemporary American restaurant and rustic wine bar with chef and owner Diego Leporini at the helm. Speaking about the premise of The Guild, he says, “I found myself with a restaurant space where the previous three restaurants in that location failed. On top of that, the restaurant needed to be open in less than 3 months, and before opening, I would have to start paying rent. Remember I had no money, I was still looking for investors. I brought a lot of people to see the space, some people liked it and would get excited, then get cold feet and would disappear.”

The next day I started demolishing everything, pulling cabinets down and taking chandeliers… there was no going back. I remember when I brought my girlfriend to the restaurant, she had no idea what I was doing to the space, and when she walked in and saw everything in pieces, walls down a pile of wood outside she looked at me and said “are you crazy? I need a drink””
A new addition to the summer menu at The Guild is the Duck'n'Waffles - Crispy duck confit with yam puree, duck egg, nuts and jalapeno balsamic

The Guild features a somewhat minimalistic menu, presenting about a dozen seasonal dishes at a time, based on a family style concept. Some of our most anticipated dishes for this summer season include the Jidori Fried Chicken with kohlrabi fennel slaw, cornbread, and honey cup mustard as well as the Lamb Belly Tamale with queso fresco, pico de gallo, egg, salsa verde, and natural jus.

Another summer special on the menu is Elote made up of grilled corn, mayo, queso fresco and cayenne

Chef Diego loves grilling thick-cut ribeyes seasoned with salt, black pepper and a homemade Sriracha rub, which brings a spicy kick to the steak. Accompanying the steak, he pairs it with a simple cilantro chimichurri sauce consisting of cilantro, parsley, garlic, evoo, vinegar, salt and pepper. But, his ultimate favorite side dish for summer barbecues is a play on the Mexican elote, topping it with a mix of queso fresco, goat cheese, and a sprinkle of paprika.
