The story of Cliveden House is one of over 350 years of powerful personalities, parties and Intrigue. The luxurious property was built in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham as a gift for his mistress and has remained the gold standard of luxury ever since. Now, Cliveden House prides itself to be a grand stately home boasting panoramic views over the beautiful Berkshire countryside and the River Thames. The house is surrounded by 376 acres of picturesque National Trust manicured gardens and parkland that feature the celebrated Parterre, season-long floral displays, distinctive topiary and a collection of exceptional sculptures.

As one of the most iconic National Trust properties in the UK, and one of only four stately homes to operate as a hotel, the former home to the Astor family Cliveden House can never be replicated. The house is home to over 300 pieces of National Trust celebrated artwork, including The French Dining Room which is the fourth most precious room within the entire National Trust collection.

This beautiful estate has two restaurants – fine dining at André Garrett Restaurant and a more casual dining atmosphere at The Astor Grill. André Garret’s innovative dishes, fastidious preparation and immaculate finishes shine through in each exquisitely crafted creation. His love of locally sourced and fresh produce means our three-course à la carte and eight-course tasting menus are governed by English ingredients, guided by the seasons. The Astor Grill is located in the charming old stable block, which once housed Lord Astor’s most prized fillies. Adopting an equestrian theme in its décor, The Astor Grill is full of character offering a relaxed, informal dining at Cliveden.
