Lodge at The Hills New Zealand | A Magical Paradise Like No Other

Set in a stunning glacial valley in Arrowtown, New Zealand with uninterrupted views of Lake Hayes and surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Cardrona and Coronet peak, Lodge at The Hills is a magical luxury experience you won’t find anywhere else.

Completed in 2014 after two years of construction, it offers guests an exclusive oasis to relax and indulge in exclusive experiences.

“The main intention was doing it very well,” says the owner Sir Michael Hill. “When I glance over the Lodge’s 500 acres of pure beauty for the first time, I conclude that the mission has been accomplished.”

The Lodge

Designed by Queenstown architect Anna-Marie Chin, every detail of the Lodge has been taken into consideration. Made for enjoying the finest things in life, it is so gorgeous it is almost surreal.

The six-bedroom suites, each with its own unique style, feature majestic high ceilings. The interior is elegant, with carefully selected artwork by local and international talents, including Maori art and artifacts. Each suite has its own sitting area with a gas fire and a private en-suite bathroom with a soaking tub, perfect for unwinding while taking in the spectacular views.

There is also a music room, a cinema, an exquisite terrace, a bar/library, and a helipad, facilitating arriving in style.

The Wine & Dine Experience

The modern kitchen is a dream come true, with a private chef as an integral part of the experience. The gourmet cuisine is innovative and tailored to meet individual tastes while incorporating locally sourced, seasonal food and wine, including produce from the Lodge’s garden.

You can choose to spend time with the chef in the kitchen, enjoying a glass of wine while he works his magic, or participate in a master class or two. If you are a foodie at heart, you will be in paradise.

The area is known for its excellent conditions for world-class wine production. The Lodge’s wine cellar consists of a fine collection of more than 1200 bottles. The Lodge collaborates with the innovators in the industry, such as Jing Song, the owner of Crown Range cellar, awarded for producing the best Pinot Noir in the world. A glass combined with these magnificent views and a magical sunset will make you long for nothing else, but more.

The World-Class Facilities

The Lodge’s outdoor area is well-planned, presenting several options for activity and relaxation. Susan Turley, who is also the creative genius behind other premium lodges in NZ, designed the picturesque garden with New Zealand’s beautiful seasons in mind. The color palette changes with the seasons.

There are numerous outdoor seating spaces to enjoy on the property, including gorgeous dining areas and a lovely fireplace. The exclusive spa is the perfect treat, with a lovely offering realized by hand-picked therapists. The sauna and the heated swimming pool with cascading levels will spoil you as you enjoy stunning views of the snow-capped mountains.

In addition to a wonderful tennis court, an award-winning clubhouse, a gym, and its own private 130-meter par 3 golf hole, there is the well-known The Hills 18-hole golf course. A destination of its own, it’s home to the New Zealand Open, and offers exclusivity with only 200 family members.

While playing, one is able to enjoy the world-renowned Sculpture park, which is a part of the golf course. Incredible artwork, such as the Wolves are Coming, by Chinese artist, Liu Ruowang next to the 18th fairway, guarantees a unique experience which doesn’t exist anywhere else.

An Experience Like Nowhere Else

The combination of the incredible location, beautiful facilities, level of customization, and splendid service, has made Lodge at The Hills a favorite destination among its high-profile guests. While it’s not for everyone, it’s the perfect escape for those who would like to treat themselves to the best New Zealand has to offer in a discreet, elegant, and incredibly beautiful way.
